Death Due to Ptomaine Poisoning
Funeral Held Saturday
_________________________________
The News of Mrs. George C. Morrison's sudden death at 2 o'clock on last Wednesday afternoon came as a surprise to her many relatives and friends in this city and in Glenwood where she was born and raised. Death came as a result of ptomaine poisoning obtained from eating green peas while on the way to Fish Lake where she was going with a party of friends to celebrate the 24th. When it was found that she was dangerously ill Mrs. morrison was returned to her home arriving here on the morning of the 24th. In spite of everything that could be done by loving hands and medical skill the woman continued to grow rapidly worse until death relieved her intense suffereing.
The deceased was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Cyrus Avery of Glenwood. She is survived by her husband and five children ranging from one to sixteen years of age. She was held in high esteem by a large circle of friends in her neighborhood and the sympathy of the entire community goes out to the bereaved numbers of family.
Funeral services were held at the second ward chapel on Saturday afternoon and largely attended, the speakers being Parley Magleby, H. Seegmiller, R. D. Young and Bishop Bell of Glenwood.
